Video Gallery Pro - Customizing how Video Gallery Pro works
Basics
Videos, playlists, and video galleries are setup using Video Gallery Pro Manager,
which can be reached by pointing your web browser to the diretory containing Video Gallery Pro. In addition to the customization
allowed by Video Gallery Pro Manager there are many customization options available.
The config2.lib.php file within the config sub-directory contains the addional options
for customizing how Video gallery Pro manager works. A different configuration file can be, but need \
not be used, for each video gallery by changing the $vgpparms parameter on the video gallery page.
vgpsamplegallerypage.php contains documentation and a sample on using this parameter.
Configuration Options
The config2.lib.php file contains comments about how to make specific changes to that file.
One specific item to note is the lockmode parameter. This controls access to Video Gallery Pro Manager.
If you forget your password: (1) Change this to "r", (2) Go to Video gallery Pro Manager and
assign a new password, (3) Change lockmode back to "p".
The configuration file allows:
- Providing assistance in correctly locking and unlocking the controls sub-directory
- If you wish to use other than the default sub-directories for templates, images, thumbnail
images, video, and control statements.
- The template used for each of the 4 primary types of video galleries and the
sub-templates used by the dropdown selections.
- The default value used by Video gallery Pro Manager on whether playing, downloading,
or both are allowed for videos.
- The amount of space between thumbnail images on the video gallery page.
- The number of thumbnail images displayed at one time on a video gallery page.
- The default width when generating new thumbnail photos. The height is automatically calculated
to keep the thumbnails in proportion to the original photo.
- What page to play the videos on. This can be overridden for individual videos within
Video gallery Pro Manager.
- Whether videos are played embedded in a web page or in a standalone player.
- The images used to scroll through gallery.
- The background color used by some of the media players.
- The version numbers used for Windows Media, Real Player, and QuickTime to validate if the
web site visitor has a media player that will play the video.
- The configuration file also contains parameters to change wording, include use of
non-English languages
